In August 2018 we purchased a new 2018 Z06 Corvette equipped with the 3LZ Premium Equipment Group, 8-Speed automatic transmission, and the Z07 Ultimate Performance Package. This car is exceedingly rare, splendidly equipped, and was lovingly owned by us until 2024. We sold this car because we purchased a 2024 Z06 in November 2023.
We lovingly drove this car about 13,400 miles to watch our Corvette Racing Team in Long Beach and Monterey, and on trips with our local Corvette Club. Despite its super performance capabilities, this car might be the ultimate C7 in two respects:
- It is a superb road car with plenty of room for luggage (something we are going to miss with the C8 Corvette). We have consistently recorded 26+ MPG on road trips. The car can be docile and comfortable for the longest of trips -- we drove from San Diego to the Black Hills Corvette Classic in July -- a 3,100 mile trip in complete comfort.
- If you are a fan of Corvette Racing, this car is identical to the "poster car" that Chevrolet used to promote the technology transfer "from the track to the street".
The original MSRP price was $107,925 (including destination charge). Images of the window sticker are shown below.
Complete List of Options:
When we decided to purchase our first Z06, we wanted a car similar to the enormously successful Corvette Racing C7R cars. While attending one of the Corvette Racing events, Harlan Charles, Corvette Product Manager, coached me at dinner on all the options to select for a Z06 Corvette: Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat, yellow brake calipers, black interior with the yellow stitching, black wheels with the yellow stripe, lots of carbon fiber, and the Z07 performance option. That's exactly what we purchased.
Here is the complete configuration. You can see that all the serious performance options are on this Z06.
Everyone is familiar with the Z06, but the Z07 Ultimate Performance Package takes the car to a serious level. Here is an article describing the Z07 option:

Wheels, Brakes, and Tires:
The car is equipped with the Brembo Ceramic Brakes, Z07 Suspension, Z06 Black Aluminum wheels with Yellow Stripe, and matching yellow brake calipers. We switched out the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Tires for all-weather Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ (all -season) ZP (zero pressure -- or "run flat") tires.
History:
This car has a very interesting history. It was manufactured by GM initially for their own use. The original Build Sheet shows that the car was ordered for "P.E.P./SPL EVENT". We are not completely sure what event(s) the car was featured at -- perhaps Corvette Racing events? The car was clearly equipped to showcase the C7 Z06.
After 126 miles the car was acquired by Miller and Sons Chevrolet in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and sold to us as a new car with the full GM Warranty. Before the original warranty expired, we purchased the extended warranty. We are the original retail purchasers of the car.
